Today is my last day working at the Office of International Affairs at UC Denver. I have been here for a little over a year and a half and honestly, I’m pretty sad to let it go. But it’s certainly all for the best. Thursday morning I will head to DIA and fly to Madrid (after stopping in Washington, DC and then Copenhagen, Denmark, gag!). But on the 17th, I will finally be back in Madrid!
I am still waiting for my visa to arrive. They said it should be done by the 14th, but this whole thing makes me really nervous….
I will be attending a program offered by the Ministry of Education in Spain. Here is a link if you’d like to check it out: Teach in Spain. Classes start October 1 and they end June 30. In the mean time, I have to get to Spain, apply for residency, find a place to live, and above all, have an incredible time.
I’m sad to leave my friends behind and excited to make new ones. Right now everything is kind of a blur: I’m not packed yet and there is still so much more for me to do in order to get ready, but I know I’ll get it all done before I have to leave. Goodbyes are always going to be difficult, but I know the future hello’s (or should I say, hola‘s) in my life will be terrific.
I have some heavy goals in mind for my trip. I want to become completely fluent in Spanish, I want to meet as many people as I can, I want to meet individuals who work in the Study Abroad field that are out there in Madrid, I want to see as much of Spain as I possibly can…I want to return a complete expert on the country in terms of culture, language, and being very confident in knowing almost every city (at least all the big ones).
Anyway, I’ll be posting photos, stories, events, etc. on here over the next year. I hope you enjoy following me on my experiences as much as I’ll be having fun doing them ;D
